Charles Cuddington, along with Margaret, took the opportunity at the Hilton Primary school PTFA Xmas Fayre, to communicate our work on the Neighbourhood Plan, answering questions and informing people about progress.
The board shows one of our short term successes which is the increase in the number of Local Green Spaces from 9 to 18. This was helped by feedback during the survey process in June/July, comments on Facebook during our engagement activity and talking to residents. This was particularly pleasing as, on average, across South Derbyshire, the number of LGS per village has reduced. Close working with South Derbyshire County Council Planning Dept on this has helped considerably.
Our survey has confirmed that the residents of Hilton see it as a high priority that available green spaces are preserved where they exist, and are always an important requirement of any new housing development.
